Kurz zusammengefasst

PPG, a global leader in paints, coatings and specialty materials, is expanding its Mannheim site and seeks a Production Operative (m/w/d). The company, headquartered in Pittsburgh and active in more than 70 countries, supplies colour and protective solutions to customers in construction, industry, transportation and consumer‑goods markets. The role will be part of a seasoned, supportive team that handles the day‑to‑day flow of finished parts on the shop floor. The operative's daily tasks include loading and unloading material carriers according to the production schedule and the shift‑leader's instructions, organising raw‑material handling such as hangers and masking, applying and removing masks on components, packing and preparing items for shipment, and performing visual quality checks. When a defect is identified, the employee must report it to the quality‑management assistant and follow the defined scrap procedures. All movements of raw and finished goods are recorded in PPG's internal MetoKote system (MITS). The position requires solid experience in a production environment, with a preference for candidates who have worked in the chemical industry. Applicants must be able to read and understand German work orders and instructions, possess basic arithmetic skills (including percentage and ratio calculations), and have fundamental computer knowledge. A strong sense of quality and safety, precise and reliable work habits, and the physical stamina to handle manual tasks are essential. The role also demands flexibility to work in rotating shifts, early, late and night. Additional assets include familiarity with operating and setting up production equipment and prior experience in chemical‑industry manufacturing, which are considered advantageous but not mandatory. PPG offers an attractive salary package, 30 days of annual leave, as well as Christmas and holiday bonuses, and the chance to develop within a forward‑looking, collaborative organisation. What the role asks for: - Production experience in a manufacturing setting - Good German language skills, spoken and written - Basic mathematical competence (percentages, ratios) - Fundamental computer (EDV) knowledge - Quality‑ and safety‑focused mindset - Physical stamina for manual handling - Willingness to work rotating early, late and night shifts - Nice‑to‑have: experience in chemical industry - Nice‑to‑have: knowledge of operating and setting production equipment
