Evotec, a global life‑science company, creates and advances therapeutics by offering a suite of cutting‑edge discovery and development platforms. The EVP Global Head of Drug Discovery Platforms will steer the company's worldwide platform strategy across hit identification, QPS, sample management, discovery biopharmaceutics, OMICs and ADMETox/Cyprotex, overseeing roughly 900 staff in five countries and being accountable for scientific quality, operational efficiency, commercial growth and financial results. The role's day‑to‑day duties involve setting the scientific direction and technology roadmap for all platform domains, and leading each major capability. This includes managing ultra‑high‑throughput screening, high‑content imaging, automated patch clamp and other assay technologies; overseeing recombinant reagent design, cell‑line compliance and structural biology; directing large‑scale sample storage and handling; guiding formulation, PK and metabolite work in discovery biopharmaceutics; supervising genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics pipelines; and running the integrated Cyprotex ADMETox service with industrial‑scale automation. The executive will also ensure seamless integration with global biology and chemistry teams, maintain a robust quality system, and drive high capacity utilisation while delivering CRO‑level service to partners. To succeed, the candidate must bring extensive senior‑level experience in drug discovery platform leadership, with a proven record of managing large, multi‑disciplinary scientific organisations. A deep understanding of high‑throughput screening, QPS, sample management, biopharmaceutics, OMICs and ADMETox is required, as is demonstrated ability to achieve commercial and financial targets, including revenue, gross margin and utilisation metrics. The role also demands strong strategic partnership skills, experience with AI/ML‑enabled innovation, and the capacity to oversee complex outsourcing engagements while maintaining zero critical audit findings. Preferred attributes include a background in building AI‑driven predictive safety products, experience with New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), and a track record of expanding collaborative solutions across multiple industry sectors.
