The Director of Engineering, KYX will shape the technical vision and delivery for Tide's KYC/KYB platform. The role covers the full lifecycle of identity verification, due‑diligence policy execution and risk scoring, from the moment a business registers to ongoing monitoring of its activity. Responsibilities include defining the engineering roadmap, overseeing backend, frontend, data‑science and machine‑learning teams spread across several global locations, and unifying previously separate onboarding and continuous‑monitoring groups under a single strategy. The leader will also manage the end‑to‑end model pipeline for KYX Scoring, ensure agentic AI is embedded safely in regulated workflows, and collaborate with operations, policy, risk and product partners to raise conversion rates, improve screening quality and lower the cost of KYX per member. The position demands a proven background in steering engineering organisations that handle identity, onboarding, fraud or financial‑crime decisioning. Candidates must have a clear record of converting platform investments into tangible results such as higher conversion, better due‑diligence outcomes and improved unit economics. Experience taking machine‑learning models from development through large‑scale production and maintaining their performance in live environments is essential. The role also requires familiarity with regulated settings, working closely with operational, policy and compliance teams, and strong judgement on organisational design, delivery practices, platform strategy, data architecture and overall technical quality. The ability to lead distributed teams across multiple markets and bring together previously siloed engineering streams under a common roadmap is a core expectation. A bonus is experience deploying AI or agentic systems inside regulated processes, with an emphasis on governance, evaluation and human oversight.
