Statista is seeking a Data Engineer, Data Platform & Ontology to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines. These pipelines will handle millions of data points for their analytics products. The role involves developing and maintaining a semantic ontology to ensure consistent data discovery across the organization. The engineer will work closely with data scientists, product managers, and software engineers to implement best-in-class data modeling, ensure data quality, and optimize performance on their cloud-native platform, which includes AWS, Snowflake, and dbt. The main responsibilities include designing and maintaining data pipelines, collaborating with various teams to implement data modeling, and ensuring data quality. The role also involves developing and curating a semantic ontology to enable consistent data discovery. The engineer will work on a cloud-native platform using AWS, Snowflake, and dbt. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with ETL/ELT frameworks, strong SQL and Python skills, and familiarity with graph-based ontologies or knowledge graphs. A proven track record of deploying CI/CD pipelines for data engineering is also required. The role is based in either Hamburg or Berlin.
