Kurz zusammengefasst
The Principal System Architect, Spectrum will join a leading space‑technology company that is developing reusable launch vehicles. In this senior role you will steer the exploration of the reusable‑launcher design space and guide the convergence toward a unified vehicle architecture that balances performance, risk, operability, cost and profitability. Your day‑to‑day work will involve owning the complete architecture of the reusable launch vehicle, from configuration and interfaces to operational concepts and key dependencies. You will define the architecture‑exploration strategy, structure the design space, pick promising paths and decide where further analysis or testing is needed. Leading multidisciplinary trade studies, you will use model outputs from specialist teams, challenge assumptions, expose dependencies and resolve conflicting objectives. You will also drive architecture decisions, maintain clear rationale and configuration baselines, and keep the next exploration cycle on track. Finally, you will align engineering, operations, program, finance and commercial stakeholders, communicating decisions, risks and remaining trades in a transparent way. The role requires extensive experience in launch‑vehicle architecture, including direct work on rocket development programmes. You must have demonstrated experience with reusable launch vehicles, recovery architectures or reuse‑driven vehicle design, and a proven record of owning multidisciplinary architecture trades and high‑impact design decisions. A deep understanding of reusable‑launcher architectures, subsystem interactions and the dependencies linking vehicle design, recovery and operations is essential. You also need strong multidisciplinary knowledge across propulsion, fluids, structures, avionics, trajectory, production, logistics, launch operations and refurbishment, as well as the ability to interpret integrated model outputs, assess their assumptions and translate them into architecture decisions. Sound systems‑engineering and configuration‑management expertise, with good judgement on lifecycle cost, operational economics and profitability trades, is also required. Nice‑to‑have skills include a broad systems‑engineering perspective that can bridge technical and commercial considerations, and the ability to communicate complex architectural rationales to diverse stakeholder groups. The position is based at the company's headquarters, offering the chance to work with specialist teams in a highly collaborative environment focused on cutting‑edge reusable‑launch technology. What the role asks for: - Extensive launch‑vehicle architecture experience - Direct work on rocket development programmes - Experience with reusable launch vehicles or recovery architectures - Proven ownership of multidisciplinary architecture trades - Deep understanding of reusable‑launcher subsystem interactions - Strong knowledge across propulsion, structures, avionics and operations - Ability to interpret integrated model outputs for decisions - Sound systems‑engineering and configuration‑management expertise
