Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm, is looking for a Director of Public Affairs to join its Strategy & Communications practice in Berlin. The role sits within a senior‑level, client‑facing team that advises Fortune‑100 and FTSE‑100 companies, as well as other major corporations, on political, regulatory and reputational matters across Europe and the wider network. In this position you will shape and expand Teneo's Public Affairs offering, design and lead integrated strategies for national and international clients, and counsel executive boards, CEOs and senior leaders on complex stakeholder issues. You will own key mandates, ensuring strategic direction and quality, while also driving business development by deepening existing relationships, identifying new advisory needs and contributing to pitch work. Leadership of multidisciplinary consulting and project teams, including talent development and fostering an entrepreneurial culture, is a core part of the day‑to‑day work. The firm requires an entrepreneurial leader with a strong team orientation and a genuine passion for politics, business and media. Candidates must have at least eight years of relevant experience in public affairs, political consulting or strategic communications, preferably with consulting exposure and an international background. A deep understanding of political decision‑making, regulatory frameworks and the interaction between politics, business and society is essential, as is a confident, persuasive presence at C‑suite level and excellent communication and organisational abilities. Strong client‑service orientation and the capacity to leverage and grow senior‑level relationships are also mandatory. Additional assets include strategic, creative and innovative thinking, rapid grasp of new topics and industries, and ideally experience using artificial intelligence together with a solid grasp of traditional and digital media. Fluency in German at native level and fluency in English are required.
