The Transformation team at Sartorius is seeking a Head of Business Process Excellence to lead the company's end‑to‑end Business Process Management. Sartorius, a global life‑science firm listed on the MDAX and TecDAX, develops technologies that accelerate the delivery of new medicines. Based in Göttingen with the option to work remotely a few days each week, the role will shape process frameworks, governance and capability building that enable Global Process Owners to continuously improve performance, efficiency, quality and customer outcomes across the enterprise. In day‑to‑day work the leader will define and evolve the Business Process Management landscape, including global process architecture, design standards and a transparent, user‑centric process environment. Partnering with Global Process Owners and business leaders, the role will translate strategic priorities into executable initiatives, develop KPI frameworks and performance‑review mechanisms, and drive process intelligence through mining, analytics, benchmarking and maturity assessments. The position also steers major ERP and platform transformations, particularly SAP S/4HANA, EWM, MES, Salesforce and related technologies, while advancing AI‑enabled automation, intelligent decision support and digital tools. Building and coaching a Business Process Excellence team, the head will foster a community of process owners and key users through standards, training and best‑practice sharing, and will lead cross‑functional governance for large‑scale transformation programmes using Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping and digitalisation techniques. The role requires a master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, Economics or a related discipline, together with extensive leadership experience in business process management, process excellence or business transformation within complex, international organisations. Candidates must have a proven record of redesigning end‑to‑end processes across functions and geographies, delivering measurable gains in productivity, cost, quality, cycle time and customer experience. Deep expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, structured problem solving and data‑driven optimisation is essential, as is strong digital acumen with hands‑on knowledge of process‑mining, automation and workflow platforms such as SAP Signavio or Celonis. A forward‑looking mindset toward AI and automation, experience in process performance management, governance, KPI frameworks and benchmarking, and outstanding transformation leadership and stakeholder‑management skills are also mandatory. Fluency in English is required; German language skills are considered an advantage.
