JetBrains, the creator of intelligent development tools used by millions of developers worldwide, is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join its Core team. The Core team maintains the foundational components of the IntelliJ Platform, such as the editor, indexing, settings, and plugins, so the work directly influences the daily experience of developers across all JetBrains IDEs. In this role you will own the quality assurance domain for the Core team. Your daily tasks include building and maintaining UI, end‑to‑end, functional and integration tests on Linux, Windows and macOS, analysing test failures, and expanding coverage for new features, especially complex edge cases. You will also improve test diagnostics, refine frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to reduce flakiness, mentor a junior QA engineer, and communicate risks and investigation results clearly to developers. Proactive planning and driving quality initiatives across the team are essential. The position requires a solid background in software quality assurance and test automation, with strong programming abilities to develop, maintain and debug UI tests. You must be experienced with testing frameworks such as JUnit or TestNG and have a proven track record of investigating and troubleshooting failures across products, infrastructure and environments. Fluency in written and spoken English is also mandatory.
