The Account Director for NBA‑licensed non‑apparel merchandise will join BDA, the world's leading merchandise agency, to shape commercial strategy and drive sales across Europe. BDA works with top‑tier brands and retailers, leveraging its expertise in licensing and consumer products to bring NBA‑branded bags, accessories, home goods and fan items to market. Each day the role will design and implement the European sales plan for these categories, hit revenue, margin and distribution targets, and uncover new retail and category opportunities. The director will act as the main commercial contact for large‑format retailers such as Kaufland, Carrefour and MediaMarkt, as well as specialist outlets like TAASS and Hoopshop, leading joint business planning, quarterly reviews and long‑range negotiations on pricing, promotions and distribution. Collaboration with product development and licensing teams will shape assortments for the European market, while providing trend insights, forecasting and inventory guidance to keep shelves stocked. The position also partners with marketing to create retailer‑specific activations, ensures consistent NBA branding, and supports product launches and fan‑engagement campaigns. Cross‑functional leadership includes working with operations, logistics, finance and licensing, mentoring regional sales staff when needed, and representing BDA at trade shows and NBA events throughout Europe. The employer requires 7‑10+ years of commercial experience in consumer products, licensing, sporting goods, toys or similar categories, with a proven record of managing major European retailers, including Amazon, big‑box and specialist accounts.
