The Cloud Developer/Integrator role is with Amentum, a company that delivers near‑real‑time cloud‑based geolocation solutions to decision makers and warfighters worldwide. Day‑to‑day duties include designing, implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, creating reusable IaC modules such as Helm charts and Terraform configurations, and enforcing development standards. The incumbent will continuously monitor system health with logging and alerting tools, troubleshoot incidents, and produce after‑action reports that feed new requirements and improved SOPs. Additional responsibilities cover backup, disaster‑recovery and high‑availability strategy design, cost‑optimisation through tagging, budgeting and autoscaling, and the production of architecture diagrams, runbooks and operational procedures. The role also involves knowledge transfer to internal teams and staying current with emerging technologies to recommend enhancements. The position requires extensive experience: at least twenty years as a software engineer on comparable programmes, with proven progressive responsibility in provisioning, configuring and managing AWS services (compute, storage, networking, IAM). Candidates must have a track record of designing secure, scalable cloud architectures and developing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK. Required technical skills include container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/AKS/GKE), Java and React development, and configuring monitoring, logging and alerting via CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch. Experience with backup, disaster recovery, high‑availability, secret management (KMS/KeyVault/Secret Manager), cost optimisation, and troubleshooting across networking, security and service limits is also mandatory. A TS/SCI clearance with a Full‑Scope Polygraph is required, and a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (or four years of equivalent software experience) is essential. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with ActiveMQ or Kafka, and experience migrating applications to the cloud. The role follows a standard Monday‑Friday, eight‑hour schedule, though after‑hours call‑in may be needed.
