The Executive Medical Director, Regional Medical Affairs will be based in Munich, Germany and will lead the Medical Affairs function for Vertex across the CEEM region. The director will lead the creation of lifecycle‑management plans, drive data‑generation studies and real‑world‑data initiatives, and establish medical KPIs that demonstrate impact on business and patient outcomes. Additional duties involve scenario planning, root‑cause analysis, and the development of high‑level clinical and scientific expertise in the designated therapeutic areas. The role also requires building and maintaining relationships with health‑care professionals, scientific societies, patient organisations, payers, policymakers, and industry associations, as well as delivering advisory board meetings, symposia, and other educational activities. Leadership of the regional medical team is a core element of the position. The Executive Medical Director will recruit, develop, manage, and coach the HQ medical team, identify skill gaps, and implement individual development plans.
