Kurz zusammengefasst

SE3 Labs is looking for a Senior Computer Vision Engineer, Perception to help its autonomous systems see and understand the world. SE3 builds spatial‑intelligence and autonomy software for unmanned platforms, combining 3‑D vision, state estimation and AI so that vehicles can navigate when GPS and other sensors are unreliable. Defence applications dominate today's work, and the company is expanding to more than 100 staff, offering a chance to shape the Perception team and grow responsibilities as the business scales. In this role you will create and refine the core components of SE3's perception stack. Daily tasks include designing object detection and multi‑object tracking pipelines, developing semantic segmentation and depth‑estimation models, and preparing training datasets. You will also extend evaluation and replay tools to measure improvements on recorded mission data before field deployment, optimise models for real‑time execution on onboard hardware, and debug mission logs to resolve failures. Writing clean, tested production code and reviewing peers' contributions are also expected. The ideal candidate holds an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Robotics, Mathematics, Physics or a closely related discipline, with an excellent academic record. At least two years of hands‑on experience at a high‑calibre tech company, research lab or startup is required, together with a demonstrated passion for computer vision through coursework, research, projects or prior work. Strong programming skills for production‑grade code and fluent English are mandatory; German is a plus. Because SE3 works on defence projects, applicants must be eligible for defence‑related work and, if needed, obtain the appropriate security clearance. Additional assets include publications at top conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML or ICLR, contributions to open‑source vision or robotics projects, and experience with robotics or autonomous‑racing student teams. Deploying models on edge devices like Jetson platforms, hands‑on field work with drones or robots, and any related open‑source involvement are also valued. SE3 offers a modern, flat‑hierarchy environment with high‑quality tools and AI‑boosted productivity aids. Employees can participate in the company's growth through an ownership programme, enjoy 30 vacation days plus a birthday off, free gym and wellness memberships, two annual retreats, and mentorship from senior engineers. What the role asks for: - M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Robotics, Mathematics, Physics or related field - Minimum 2 years practical experience at a high‑calibre tech company, research lab or startup - Strong programming ability for production‑quality code - Fluent English proficiency - Eligibility for defence‑related projects and security clearance - German language proficiency (plus) - Publications at CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML or ICLR (nice‑to‑have) - Open‑source contributions to computer vision or robotics (nice‑to‑have)
