GetYourGuide is a global travel platform that connects millions of users with curated activities and experiences worldwide. As an Engineering Manager for the newly created User Platform team, you will lead the development of a "traveler context layer" that unifies identity, behavior and predictive signals across devices, enabling other product groups, such as search, ranking, lifecycle, paid channels and customer care, to deliver more personalized experiences. In this role you will own the vision and initial architecture of the platform, defining what data the context layer contains, how it is served and which problems it tackles first. You will work side‑by‑side with a Product Manager, engineers, an embedded data scientist and an analyst to design the identity model, a semantic memory readable by humans and LLMs, forward‑looking predictions and self‑serve interfaces. Day‑to‑day duties include hiring and performance management, shaping the roadmap with the Product Manager, driving technical excellence and system health, fostering a culture of experimentation, and collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver high‑impact initiatives. The position calls for a seasoned engineering leader who can set technical direction, navigate complex problem spaces and champion a data‑driven, experimentation mindset. You must bring a full‑stack perspective, be comfortable with both backend and frontend systems, and have hands‑on experience applying AI technologies in product development. A people‑first approach is essential: you should be able to coach engineers at all levels without micromanaging, while keeping the customer at the centre of product decisions. Strong collaboration skills in an international, cross‑functional environment are also required. GetYourGuide offers a hybrid work model with three office days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) and two optional remote days, plus the ability to work from anywhere for up to 30 days a year.
