The role of Hardware Tester / Test Engineer is to verify that hardware and complete systems meet functional, quality and reliability standards throughout the product lifecycle, from requirements definition to final verification. On a daily basis you will execute hardware and system tests according to detailed test plans, set up and commission experimental benches, and program or maintain measurement and test software such as LabVIEW. You will record, analyse and evaluate measurement data, often using DIAdem, then document the results in English. Close collaboration with R &D, quality, project managers, engineers and external vendors is essential. The employer requires a diploma or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline, with several years of experience in hardware testing, validation or test‑bench engineering. Candidates must have strong expertise in measurement technology, sensor systems and test automation, and be proficient with LabVIEW and DIAdem. A solid understanding of mechanical and electromechanical systems, version‑control tools (SVN/GIT, GitHub), system and reliability engineering, and common quality methods such as DFMEA and Design for Six Sigma is also mandatory. Excellent documentation skills, MS Office proficiency and good German and English language abilities are required. Additional, desirable skills include experience building automated test systems (e.g., cDAQ, DAQ), knowledge of Python or other scripting languages, familiarity with test‑management tools like Jira or TestRail, and exposure to endurance or lifetime testing and drive‑system technologies such as BLDC motors. Stakeholder‑management and networking abilities, as well as a team‑oriented, communicative attitude, are valued. The position is based in Kelberg, Germany, with a work shift that aligns with BD's standard operating hours. BD promotes a collaborative, face‑to‑face culture and offers a total‑rewards package that includes competitive salary ranges (€58 500, €89 250), benefits and development opportunities.
