Kurz zusammengefasst
Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a working‑student to join its Navigation team, focusing on 5G and low‑Earth‑orbit (LEO) satellite communication signals. The role is based at the company's Taufkirchen/Ottobrunn site, just outside Munich, and runs for twelve months with an 18‑hour weekly schedule. The student will carry out research on the structure of positioning signals used in 5G and LEO satellite links, including pilot and data components and their multiplexing. They will also investigate methods for acquiring the pilot component and demodulating the data stream. Core tasks involve creating signal‑processing algorithms in MATLAB, Python or C++, and performing laboratory experiments with software‑defined radio (SDR) on both prototype and existing satellite signals. Candidates must be enrolled full‑time in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Navigation or a closely related programme. A solid grasp of signal modulation, navigation receivers and a keen interest in signal processing or navigation is required. Experience with SDR and processing field‑recorded signals is essential, as is proficiency in Python, C++ and MATLAB for real‑time algorithm development. Fluency in both German and English, strong teamwork, communication skills and the ability to work independently are also mandatory. The position offers an attractive salary, flexible 18‑hour weeks, and the possibility of converting the work into a final thesis after departmental approval. Mobile work can be arranged, and the international environment provides networking opportunities worldwide. Employees can also join the Generation Airbus Community and enjoy easy access to outdoor activities in the Alps and Lake Starnberg. What the role asks for: - Enrolled full‑time student in Electrical, Telecommunication or Navigation engineering - Solid understanding of signal modulation and navigation receivers - Experience with software‑defined radio (SDR) - Experience processing field‑recorded signal data - Proficiency in Python for algorithm development - Proficiency in C++ for algorithm development - Proficiency in MATLAB for algorithm development - Fluent in German and English (both)
