The AI Architect role sits at the heart of this effort, providing overall technical leadership for Essity's AI initiatives and ensuring that AI platforms are designed to meet business goals while staying within defined risk parameters. In day‑to‑day work the AI Architect will develop and maintain the AI Technical Architecture strategy and roadmap, aligning it with business objectives and scalability requirements. The role involves translating business vision into concrete technical designs, assessing feasibility, and guiding the end‑to‑end implementation of AI solutions for both routine and high‑value projects. Collaboration is key: the architect will work closely with business leaders, data scientists, AI engineers and external technology partners to identify, prioritize and pilot use cases, gather stakeholder inputs, and ensure solutions meet current and future needs. Ongoing responsibilities include researching and recommending appropriate open‑source or commercial technologies, conducting audits of data, models and software engineering practices, and overseeing model retraining or service recalibration as required. The position demands a solid academic foundation and extensive experience. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline. They need at least eight years of combined experience across data analytics, data science, machine learning or generative AI, with a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable AI architectures. Deep knowledge of machine‑learning models, generative AI, data analytics and statistics is essential, as is the ability to craft technology strategies and architecture designs. Strong communication, collaboration, organizational and project‑management skills are required to turn insights into tangible outcomes, and fluency in English is mandatory for all applicants.
