On a day‑to‑day basis the Sales Engineer will craft and deliver compelling technical presentations, lead architecture‑design discussions, and run proof‑of‑concept (PoC) engagements for prospective customers. Responsibilities also include responding to RFPs/RFIs, conducting solution demonstrations and technical workshops, and guiding the hand‑off of won opportunities to Professional Services or partner networks. The role requires regular site assessments of customer infrastructure, documentation of feature requests, support for product testing, and active participation in industry events to evangelise Axon's value proposition. Continuous research and networking are expected to position the engineer as the regional go‑to resource for future solution opportunities and product roadmap input. Candidates must have prior experience as a Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer or a closely related field, and hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or an equivalent background. Technical fluency is required across digital video, mobile communications, IP engineering, embedded systems or SaaS, with strong knowledge of CCTV systems, VMS platforms (e.g., Genetec, Milestone), and core network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs). Experience with large‑scale infrastructure‑as‑a‑service platforms such as AWS, Azure or OpenStack, as well as project management of PoCs, is essential. The role demands native‑level German, excellent English, a valid passport, a clean driving licence, and willingness to travel up to 70 % of the time, including international trips. Preferred, but not mandatory, skills include familiarity with relational database solutions (Microsoft/Azure SQL), SAN technologies (EMC, HP 3Par), and a demonstrated ability to add value as a global team member while working remotely and independently.
