Kurz zusammengefasst

NXP Germany is expanding its Terahertz Lab, a new competence centre focused on high‑frequency technologies for automotive radar, robotics and future communications. As part of the EU IPCEI microelectronics programme, the lab develops and tests next‑generation RF systems operating at 100 GHz and above. The role is a Working Student position that supports RF validation and lab automation within this cutting‑edge environment. On a day‑to‑day basis you will carry out RF measurements, analyse the results and create automated reports. You will also develop PHY‑level simulations, pre‑ and post‑processing scripts, and system‑level models for both active and passive components. In addition, you will design and implement automated test routines, remote‑control interfaces for measurement equipment, and storage solutions for measurement data. Close collaboration with lab engineers is expected to continuously improve measurement setups, automation workflows and reporting standards. The position requires you to be enrolled in an electrical‑engineering programme, preferably with a focus on RF technologies. You must have hands‑on experience using Python or MATLAB for engineering or signal‑processing tasks, as well as practical knowledge of RF test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, vector network analysers and power supplies. Experience with electromagnetic and system‑level simulation tools, ideally Ansys HFSS and PathWave SystemVue, is also essential. Strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a structured, self‑motivated work style are required, together with good communication skills and fluent English, both spoken and written. Nice‑to‑have attributes include an awareness of security‑related responsibilities, as the role may involve tasks that fall under security certifications. The position is based on‑site in Hamburg, limited to a maximum of 18 hours per week, and offers a hybrid working option. NXP provides an hourly wage of €18.90, 30 vacation days, flexible hours and access to networking groups such as Young Community, No Extra Planet and Women in NXP, supporting both professional growth and personal development. What the role asks for: - Student of electrical engineering, preferably RF focus - Experience with Python or MATLAB for engineering tasks - Hands‑on experience with RF measurement equipment - Experience with EM and system‑level simulation software - Fluent English spoken and written - Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills - Structured, self‑motivated and flexible work style - Team player with good communication skills - Awareness of security‑related responsibilities (nice‑to‑have)
