Kurz zusammengefasst

The Product Assurance Engineer, Structures & CFRP will join a space‑focused organization that builds primary and secondary structural flight hardware. The company delivers mission‑critical hardware for aerospace, space and defence programmes, ensuring that every component meets strict certification and flight‑readiness standards. In this production‑oriented role the engineer will be present on the shop floor, confirming that manufacturing follows approved drawings, work instructions, process specifications and inspection plans. Daily tasks include checking lay‑up, cure, bonding, machining, assembly and handling activities, flagging any deviations, and verifying that critical characteristics, hold points and acceptance evidence are recorded correctly. The engineer also oversees special processes such as composite lay‑up, adhesive bonding, welding and heat treatment, and ensures that required coupons, witness samples, mechanical tests, dimensional inspections and NDT/NDI activities are completed and documented. Additional duties involve reviewing internal and supplier capabilities, approving changes to materials or processes, leading risk‑based disposition of non‑conformances, and maintaining alignment between product and manufacturing assurance while preserving independent authority. The position requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials Science, Composite Engineering or a related field, together with experience in product assurance, quality or structural engineering within a highly regulated sector. Candidates must possess a solid grasp of metallic structures and CFRP composites, including manufacturing methods, joint design and typical failure modes. Practical knowledge of composite lay‑up, curing, bonding, trimming, drilling, assembly and environmental controls is essential, as is experience with material and process qualification, first‑article inspection and production acceptance. Familiarity with NDT/NDI techniques such as ultrasonic, radiography, CT, thermography, shearography and penetrant inspection, as well as the ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications and qualification reports, is required. The role also calls for working knowledge of configuration management, traceability, change control, non‑conformance handling and risk‑based decision making, strong analytical judgement, and effective communication in English; German language skills are a plus. Preferred qualifications include experience with aerospace quality frameworks such as EN 9100, ECSS or comparable standards. The company offers a range of benefits: a virtual employee share programme, 30 days of vacation, a pension plan with a 20 % employer contribution after probation, subsidised lunches, a flexible mobility budget (including a fully financed Deutschlandticket, bike leasing, car sharing or fuel allowance), rental work clothing with laundry service, and sponsored sport‑club memberships. What the role asks for: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant engineering discipline - Experience in product or quality assurance in aerospace/defence - Strong knowledge of metallic structures and CFRP composites - Hands‑on familiarity with composite lay‑up, curing and bonding - Experience with material and process qualification, first‑article inspection - Understanding of NDT/NDI methods for metal and composite parts - Ability to review drawings, specifications and qualification reports - Working knowledge of configuration management and change control - Proficiency in English; German language skills are beneficial (nice‑to‑have) - Familiarity with EN 9100, ECSS or equivalent quality frameworks (nice‑to‑have)
