Webfleet Solutions, part of the global Bridgestone group, is looking for an Associate Mechatronic Engineer to help create and maintain telematic hardware for its fleet‑management platform. The role sits within an innovative engineering team that designs scalable devices, works closely with product managers and owners, and partners with Asian manufacturers to bring products from concept through to end‑of‑life while supporting the broader corporate sustainability goals of the Bridgestone E8 Commitment. On a daily basis you will design, develop, test and sustain robust telematics hardware and related accessories such as cables, harnesses and sensors. You will translate product requirements into technical solutions, collaborate with third‑party suppliers, and oversee quality throughout the manufacturing process. The position also involves supporting product reliability through functional testing, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and contributing to continuous improvement of development tools, processes and methodologies. Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and recommending their adoption forms part of the ongoing responsibilities. The minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline. Candidates must have hands‑on experience designing mechanical components with CAD tools like Creo, and a basic understanding of multi‑disciplinary device design that spans electrical, mechanical and software aspects. Prior exposure to prototyping methods such as 3D‑printing, evaluation hardware and simulation is required, as is a practical grasp of electronic circuits and subsystems. Strong problem‑solving abilities, the capacity to work both independently and within a team, and solid English communication skills are essential; German language ability is considered a plus. Experience with AI‑supported hardware‑design tools is also mentioned. Desirable skills include familiarity with AI‑assisted design platforms, and any additional language proficiency beyond English. The role offers a flexible home‑working policy, a one‑time home‑office allowance, and the chance to work abroad for up to 40 days per year. Employees enjoy 30 days of annual leave, birthday and volunteering days, unlimited LinkedIn Learning access, language‑learning through GoFluent, mental‑health support via CALM, childcare financial assistance, a fully funded pension, and discounts on Bridgestone tyres. The position is open to candidates of any background, with a strong emphasis on diversity and equal opportunity. What the role asks for: - Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field - Experience with CAD tools (e.g., Creo) - Understanding of multi‑discipline device design (EE, ME, SE) - Hands‑on prototyping (3D‑printing, evaluation hardware, simulation) - Basic knowledge of electronic and electrical circuits - Strong problem‑solving and independent work capability - Excellent written and verbal English communication - German communication skills, a plus - Experience with AI‑supported hardware‑design tools, nice to have
