The company's portfolio includes compression, control, software and monitoring products that aim to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency worldwide. The opening is for a Systems Engineer based in Overath, Germany, working on a hybrid schedule with two days of remote work each week. In this role you will join a multi‑disciplinary team that creates custom industrial refrigeration and gas‑compression systems. Your daily tasks will involve reviewing system designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contracts and relevant codes, and interpreting those codes to ensure conformity. The position also requires you to perform calculations, conduct design reviews with production, and produce the documentation needed for project execution. You will approve production drawings, suggest improvements to reduce cost or boost efficiency, and act as a technical resource for the shop floor, customers, sales and other departments. Preparing specifications for custom equipment and working with procurement for quotations, as well as participating in cross‑functional teams to resolve design issues and drive continuous improvement, are also part of the job. The essential qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and at least three years of engineering experience. Candidates must be able to tackle a broad range of technical problems with minimal supervision and communicate technical concepts clearly in writing and presentations. Proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable 2‑D CAD software is required, as is the ability to travel 5‑10 % of the time. Strong teamwork, a willingness to learn from senior staff and the capacity to introduce positive changes are also mandatory. Preferred experience covers prior work with compression or pressure‑piping systems, familiarity with P&ID creation, knowledge of manufacturing bill‑of‑materials structures and ERP systems, and background in heat‑transfer or thermodynamic products. The position is located near Aachen, a vibrant engineering hub in the heart of Europe, offering close ties to research institutions, advanced manufacturing and a dynamic technology community. The role provides exposure to product management, engineering, sales, marketing and supply‑chain colleagues, and supports the company's sustainability mission and inclusive culture.
