Kurz zusammengefasst

The role is an R&D Engineer focused on Test Engineering for wafer‑level, die‑level and final‑module testing at a company that develops optoelectronic transceivers, sensors and in‑house mixed‑signal ASICs. The engineer will define test requirements and methods for these products, create and debug both hardware and software test solutions, and hand them over to production or external test houses. The position involves close collaboration with IC designers, product designers and project leaders throughout the development cycle. Day‑to‑day activities include designing test‑application PCBs, test sockets and probe cards, as well as building and debugging test rigs for device characterization and production testing. The engineer will run full device characterizations across corner conditions, analyse the results, and produce detailed reports. Based on the data, they will optimise test packages to make wafer‑level and final‑module testing more cost‑effective. Interaction with customers and suppliers is required, and travel may reach up to 20 % of the time. The essential qualifications are a Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field with a focus on semiconductor devices or electrical/optical testing. At least three years of experience in semiconductor testing is mandatory. Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English and be prepared to learn German for communication. The role also demands a self‑contained, accurate work style and the ability to work across interdisciplinary teams and multiple locations. Preferred expertise includes deep knowledge of testing and measurement technology, familiarity with discrete test equipment such as oscilloscopes, SMUs and spectrum analyzers, and experience with ATE platforms from manufacturers like Teradyne, Advantest or LTX. Knowledge of wafer probers and probe‑card technologies, strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, C#, Java, LabVIEW, NI TestStand or MATLAB, and the use of AI tools to support testing tasks are considered advantageous. The position offers a collaborative environment within a global, equal‑opportunity employer and involves occasional travel to customer or supplier sites. What the role asks for: - Master's Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent - Minimum 3 years semiconductor testing experience - Proficiency in spoken and written English - Willingness to learn German for communication - Up to 20 % travel time - Experience with discrete test equipment (oscilloscope, SMU, spectrum analyzer) - Familiarity with ATE systems (Teradyne, Advantest, LTX) - Knowledge of wafer probers and probe‑card technologies - Programming skills in Python, C++, C#, Java, LabVIEW, NI TestStand or MATLAB - Experience using AI tools for testing tasks (nice‑to‑have)
