The main day-to-day responsibilities include partnering with the Sales team to lead technical discovery and qualify customer use cases. The Solutions Architect will design target architectures for modern Agentic workflows and AI and web applications on Vercel, including frontends, APIs, data, and edge services. They will also create and deliver tailored demos, technical presentations, and workshops. Additionally, they will own and run proofs of concept and pilots, act as the lead architect post-sale for strategic accounts, and engage with customers on performance, reliability, and cost optimization. The role also involves collaborating with the Field Engineering Team to standardize playbooks and reusable assets, responding to security and compliance reviews, and contributing to internal enablement and external content. To qualify for this role, candidates must have significant experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as a solutions architect, sales engineer, or platform architect, with a focus on modern web or cloud platforms. Strong hands-on skills with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web frameworks, particularly Next.js, are essential. Candidates should also understand web performance, caching, networking, and security fundamentals, and be comfortable discussing both business outcomes with executives and implementation details with developers. Experience owning complex technical projects and thriving in collaborative field teams is crucial. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and a passion for great developer experience are also required. Nice-to-have skills include experience building AI-powered applications or Agentic workloads, leveraging tooling such as the AI SDK. Production experience deploying and operating Next.js or other modern frontend frameworks on Vercel or similar platforms is also beneficial. Familiarity with security and privacy standards such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, or HIPAA, and having led large-scale migrations to cloud-native platforms are additional bonuses. The role may involve some travel for industry events and customer on-sites, and the team values clear, concise communication and documentation.
