Kurz zusammengefasst
Bettermile is a fast‑growing SaaS company that modernises last‑mile logistics with a geo‑based, AI‑driven platform for address processing, dynamic routing and navigation. The Senior Platform Engineer will join the Platform team, which supplies the shared infrastructure, authentication, observability and developer tooling that lets product squads ship, run and secure their services quickly. On a day‑to‑day basis the role blends hands‑on engineering (about 60 % of the time) with strategic work and mentorship (about 40 %). You will drive the evolution and stability of the central authentication layer, own the observability, scalability, security and cost‑efficiency of the whole infrastructure, and implement infrastructure‑as‑code across the ecosystem. In addition, you will guide senior platform engineers, promote a DevOps culture, and help shape platform‑engineering best practices while collaborating closely with product teams and other stakeholders. The position requires deep, practical experience with Amazon Web Services, including services such as CDK, EC2, ECS, S3, EventBridge, SQS, Location Services and API Gateway. You must have led multi‑team infrastructure migration projects and worked with AI‑related workloads (MLOps, AWS Bedrock, Agentcore, Snowflake Cortex or similar). A security‑first mindset, proven ability to mentor engineers, and a strong capability to challenge technical directions constructively are essential. The employer also expects a preference for a hybrid work model with two on‑site days in Berlin‑Kreuzberg, fluency in a programming language like Python, solid Linux/Unix operations background and relevant AWS certifications. Nice‑to‑have skills include extensive experience with large‑scale migration initiatives, deeper expertise in system operations on Linux/Unix, and additional familiarity with the broader tech stack (Pulumi, Kotlin, New Relic, Snowflake, PagerDuty, GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code). The role offers a supportive, diverse environment with flat hierarchy, autonomy, professional growth, hybrid flexibility, up to 12 weeks of remote work per year, 30 vacation days, a kindergarten grant, pension scheme and regular wellness activities in a modern Berlin office. What the role asks for: - Deep proficiency operating in AWS environment - Proven experience leading infrastructure migration projects - Experience with AI workloads (MLOps, AWS Bedrock, etc.) - Security‑mindset in platform engineering - Ability to mentor other engineers - Preference for hybrid work with 2 on‑site days - Fluency in Python or similar language - Relevant AWS certifications - (nice‑to‑have) Strong Linux/Unix operations background - (nice‑to‑have) Experience with large‑scale migration projects
