Kurz zusammengefasst
SE3 Labs is seeking a Senior Systems & Infrastructure Engineer to join its newly formed Software Platform team. SE3 builds spatial‑intelligence and autonomy software for unmanned systems, blending 3D computer vision, state estimation and AI to enable platforms to operate when GPS and other sensors are unreliable. Defence applications are a core focus, and the company is expanding beyond 100 staff, offering the chance to shape the platform function from the ground up while working alongside technical founders and specialists in computer vision, robotics and firmware. The role centres on owning all non‑cybersecurity infrastructure. Daily work includes unifying over‑the‑air update pipelines for Jetson, NXP and other edge devices, provisioning and maintaining Linux‑based edge hardware and workstations, and automating container image builds, deployment workflows and recovery procedures using Bash and Python. You will design and troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, SSH, VPNs and firewalls, across remote field links, ensure the GPU compute cluster and self‑hosted CI runners stay reliable, and improve monitoring, service availability and operational documentation in close partnership with the cybersecurity engineer. Additionally, you will define infrastructure standards and support firmware, robotics, computer‑vision and test teams both in the lab and in the field. Candidates must hold a degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline and bring roughly five years of hands‑on experience in infrastructure, DevOps or Linux systems engineering, preferably within a small IT or platform team. Proven experience delivering distributed software updates to large device fleets, strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to write reliable Bash and Python automation are essential. You should be comfortable debugging end‑to‑end IP networks, including routing, DNS, SSH, VPNs and firewalls, and have solid experience with Docker and container deployment. Fluency in English is required; German language skills are a plus. Because SE3 works on defence projects, applicants must be eligible to work on defence‑related contracts and, where needed, obtain the appropriate security clearance. Preferred, but not mandatory, expertise includes embedded Linux on NVIDIA Jetson or NXP platforms, Yocto/BSP development, flashing or hardware bring‑up, and familiarity with GPU compute clusters managed by Slurm or Kubernetes. Experience with self‑hosted GitHub Actions runners, infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Ansible or Terraform, and observability stacks like Prometheus or Grafana is valued. Knowledge of ROS 2/DDS, MAVLink or field‑robotics protocols, as well as involvement in technical student groups during university, are also considered advantageous. The position is based on‑site in Munich, with occasional visits to a second location, and offers a modern toolset, flat hierarchy, AI‑enhanced workplace, generous vacation, wellness benefits and mentorship opportunities. What the role asks for: - Degree in Computer Science or related field - Approximately five years infrastructure/DevOps/Linux experience - Proven large‑fleet software distribution experience - Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills - Bash and Python automation proficiency - Ability to debug end‑to‑end IP networks - Docker and container deployment experience - Fluent English language ability - Eligibility for defence work and security clearance - German language proficiency (nice‑to‑have) - Embedded Linux on Jetson or NXP (nice‑to‑have) - Yocto/BSP, flashing or hardware bring‑up (nice‑to‑have) - GPU compute clusters, Slurm or Kubernetes (nice‑to‑have) - Self‑hosted GitHub Actions runners (nice‑to‑have) - Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus or Grafana (nice‑to‑have) - ROS 2/DDS, MAVLink or field robotics (nice‑to‑have) - Participation in technical student groups (nice‑to‑have)
