Kurz zusammengefasst
The role is a DevOps Engineer for a company that designs and launches rockets, while also delivering the software, data and AI systems that support those missions. The IT Operations team provides a secure, reliable and scalable technology foundation, and the engineer will be responsible for building that foundation across both cloud and on‑premises environments. Day‑to‑day work will focus on automating infrastructure and managing multi‑cloud platforms. You will design, deploy and maintain Azure and AWS resources using Terraform, Bicep and Ansible, and you will operate private‑cloud compute on VMware vSphere and Proxmox VE. In the container space you will run Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters, standardise Docker packaging and ensure runtime security. You will also own CI/CD pipelines built with GitLab CI/CD or Argo CD, collaborate with software, data and IT teams to remove deployment friction, and troubleshoot complex incidents while embedding security best practices throughout the lifecycle. The position requires 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience in DevOps, SRE or Cloud Platform Engineering within a production setting, and a strong ownership mindset. You must be proficient with Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Debian), have practical experience architecting and operating production workloads on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, and be skilled with VMware (ESXi/vCenter) and Proxmox VE. Container expertise must include Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes and Docker. Infrastructure‑as‑code knowledge should cover Terraform, Ansible, Bicep and scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell. Proven use of modern CI/CD tools (GitLab CI/CD or Argo CD) and a solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, ingress routing, firewall rules) as well as core database administration (SQL/NoSQL) are also required. Nice‑to‑have qualifications include Red Hat certifications such as RHCA in OpenShift Administration, RHCE or RHCSA, and cloud‑oriented credentials like Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or SysOps, or Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert. The team values platform engineering as a product, prioritises developer experience and places automation at the core of its culture. Engineers are encouraged to take ownership, pursue technical excellence and build scalable platforms that the rest of the organisation relies on daily.
