BCG Platinion is seeking a Senior Consultant for Energy Utilities to help leading energy providers modernise their IT landscape. Working alongside the Boston Consulting Group and client teams, the role focuses on digital transformation across the whole energy value chain, from sales and services to networks and customer solutions. The day‑to‑day work involves owning functional and technical workstreams throughout transformation programmes, from strategy and target‑operating‑model definition to implementation. You will lead interdisciplinary delivery teams, coach junior consultants and analysts, and translate complex business requirements into scalable solution designs and sustainable architectures. The position also requires taking responsibility for the architecture and rollout of key energy systems such as CRM, billing, pricing, forecasting, planning, logistics and digital data platforms, as well as managing programme road‑maps, governance, stakeholder alignment and quality assurance. Additionally, you will help develop best‑practice guidelines for delivery teams in the utilities sector and support proposal creation to grow the Energy Utilities portfolio. Candidates must hold an above‑average degree in business informatics, business administration or a related discipline and bring at least five years of relevant experience in energy utilities, IT implementation projects or transformation programmes covering energy sales, networks or energy IT. Proven experience leading project teams or major workstreams, and solid hands‑on knowledge of industry‑standard energy software such as SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Powercloud, SIV or Wilken, are required. A strong grasp of IT architectures in utilities, especially current data and platform trends, is essential, together with excellent analytical, strategic thinking and business‑case development skills. The role also demands confident communication and stakeholder‑management abilities up to senior‑management level, and fluency in both German and English. Nice‑to‑have attributes include additional language skills in Polish, Czech or Hungarian, which can further support client engagements across Central Europe.
